Case Study: Brian D Project — South Gate, Kentucky

CSI was contracted to stabilize the right side of foundation due to major settlement. The wall was leaning out around 2.5 inches. In addition, a front interior wall was pushing in and needed stabilization. We excavated the outside down to the footer and discovered a previous attempt to stabilize the failing foundation by digging below the footer and installing layers of concrete, rock, and even brick.

Simply adding concrete to a failing footer is not a solution. This will cause the footer to sink faster and make the repair more difficult in the long run.

CSI installed 12 piers successfully straightened the wall and rehabbed a previously stuck exterior door, making it easily usable again.

On the inside the previous homeowner had blocked up the original garage that sloped down to basement level, filled in the old driveway and concreted new driveway level with main floor. This block wall is starting to push in. CSI installed two 4” pressure I-beams mounting to the top joists and buried the bottom beam in two feet of concrete.

Both completed repairs are backed by our lifetime warranty.
